Born in 1986, Morteza Najafi is an accomplished Iranian cinematographer and lighting designer whose journey in the world of cinema began in 2000.

Starting as a cinematography assistant under the guidance of Iranian director Mehdi Fakhimzadeh in the series 'Asleep and Awake', Najafi has since become a prominent figure in the Iranian film industry.

His dedication and skill were recognized at the 38th Fajr Film Festival when he was awarded the Crystal Simorgh for Best Cinematography for the film 'Touman'.

 The following year, he achieved another milestone by winning the same award for the films 'Roshan' and 'Yadoo' at the 39th Fajr Film Festival. This achievement marked a distinctive record in the history of Iranian cinema.

Najafi's contribution extends beyond these accolades, as he has actively collaborated in numerous cinematic works and several short films.

His filmography boasts noteworthy titles such as ‘Actor’, ‘Hasti and Zaman’, ‘Tafriq’, ‘The Little Refugee’, ‘The Atmosphere Station’, ‘Don’t Step into My Shoes’, ‘Aal’, and ‘Malaria'.

In addition to his role as a cinematographer, Najafi has also played a pivotal role as a lighting designer in acclaimed works like 'Blockage', 'Mina’s Choice', 'No Men Allowed', 'Atom Heart Mother', and 'Father's House'.

His expertise extends to popular television series broadcast on iFilm English, where he contributed as a cinematographer in series like 'The Pahlavi Hat', 'Prophet Joseph', and 'Asleep and Awake'; as well as the movies 'The Fourth Child' and 'Mina’s Choice'.
